"Évasion Plaisirs !" Contest - Official Contest Rules
1. The "Évasion Plaisirs !" Contest is held by, and in benefit to the Maison Cousin Inc. It takes place in all participating stores across the Quebec province starting at midnight (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) August 14, 2006 until 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) September 22, 2006.
ELIGIBILITY
2. This contest is open to all residents of Quebec, 18 years old and over. Employees, agents and representatives of Maison Cousin Inc., any parent, allied or affiliated company, the participating merchants their promotions and advertising agencies, the suppliers of prizes, materials and services related to the current contest, as well as members of their immediate families who live in the same place (brothers, sisters, children, father, mother), their legal or de facto spouse and all people with whom these employees, representatives and agents are domiciled are excluded.
HOW TO ENTER
3.1 Visit www.maison-cousin.com Web site and click on the "Promotions and Contests" or "Pamper Retreat" icon to access the contest page. Click on "Register Now" and complete the required fields, indicating the name and address of the merchant where you saw the promotion. Then answer the mathematical skill-testing question and click on "Submit". A page will appear confirming the activation of your account. You’ll also be sent an e-mail which will give you instructions on how to register for the contest and confirm your User Name and Password. Click on the link, "Click Here", imbedded in the e-mail. This will allow you to enter one (1) UPC code from any Maison Cousin, Collection d’Europe or Le Grand Cousin product. For all subsequent entries, click on "Already Registered" in the "Promotions and Contests" section. A window will appear requiring you to enter your User Name and Password. Click on "Submit". Then you can enter your UPC from any Maison Cousin, Collection d’Europe or Le Grand Cousin product. To be eligible for the draw, all on-line entry forms must be duly completed and submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. (EDT) September 22, 2006.
3.2 To enter by mail: During the contest, obtain an entry form from any participating store. Provide complete personal information (your last name, first name, full address and telephone number, including area code), the name and address of the participating store in which you saw the promotion, as well as a minimum of one (1) UPC code from any Maison Cousin, Collection d’Europe or Grand Cousin product, answer correctly the mathematical skill-testing question and mail your completed entry form in a properly stamped envelope to: “Évasion Plaisirs” Contest! P. O. Box 98, Station D, Montreal, Quebec H3K 3B9. To be eligible, all mail-in entries must be postmarked before September 22, 2006, 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time), the contest ending date. Facsimiles or copies of the entry form will not be accepted. Any entrant who did not write the name and address of the participating store that he/she visited will not be eligible for the secondary prizes draw.
3.3 No purchase necessary. To enter the contest without the official entry form during the contest period (and without having made a purchase or provided a minimum of one (1) UPC code), write a letter, by hand, of at least 50 words on an 8½” x 11” sheet, explaining why you want to win the grand prize. Be sure to include your name, address and telephone number, as well as the name and address of the participating store in which you saw the promotion, then mail it in a properly stamped envelope to: “ Évasion Plaisirs" Contest!, P.O. Box 98, Station D, Montreal, Quebec, H3K 3B9. To be eligible, all letters must be postmarked before September 22, 2006, 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time). You can also send your letter by fax at (514) 281-6266. It is important to mention “Évasion Plaisirs” Contest!. On receipt of your letter, you will be automatically eligible for the draw. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person per week. If a participant sends more than one (1) letter during the contest period, he/she must submit a different letter than those previously sent (at least 25 words must be different).
4. Limit: Each entrant (by mail or online) must respect the limit of one (1) entry per person per day per UPC code. Failure to comply will result in their disqualification for the contest duration.
PRIZES
5.1 Grand Prizes: Five (5) weekend packages for 2 people at Spa Bromont, including: · 2 half days of spa treatment · 2 nights · 2 breakfasts · 2 table d’hôte dinners Prize winners will receive a $1,284 (retail value) gift certificate from Spa Bromont. 5.2. Secondary Prizes: One (1) gift certificate of $100 per participating store to spend in any Archambault store. There will be a minimum of 200 gifts certificates given at the end of the contest.
THE DRAW
6. Grand Prizes: The draw will take place on October 13, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) by an independent organization, in Montreal, Quebec, from all entry forms received and registered before the contest closing date. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
6.1 Secondary Prizes: One (1) secondary prize per participating store will be awarded. The $100 gift certificate draw will take place on October 13, 2006 at 12:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) by an independent organization, in Montreal, Quebec, from all entry forms received and registered before the contest closing date, for each of the participating stores. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. In the case where there are no entries for one of the participating stores, the independent organization will award a prize through another draw from all entry forms received and registered before the contest closing date.
CLAIMING OF PRIZES
7. In order to receive their prize, winners must:
7.1 Have provided a minimum of one (1) valid UPC code from any Maison Cousin, Collection d’Europe or Grand Cousin products, or provided a letter of at least 50 words as per Paragraph 3.3 of these rules;
7.2 Correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question on the electronic entry form or on the mail-in entry form or on the Standard Declaration and Waiver Form, hereinafter referred to as the “Declaration Form”;
7.3 Sign and return the Declaration Form sent to them by the contest organizers within fifteen (15) days of receipt.
8. Failure to comply with one or more of the above-mentioned conditions, or with any other condition detailed in the current contest rules, will result in disqualification and refusal of a prize.
9. Upon receipt of the duly completed Declaration Form, the contest organizers will inform the winners of the steps to take in order to claim their prize. The prize will be given to the winner within six (6) to eight (8) weeks following receipt of their completed Declaration Form.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
10. Internet and mail-in entries are subject to verification by the contest organizers. All entries that, depending on the case, are incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, mutilated, submitted late, mailed late, mechanically reproduced or obtained from an unauthorized source, may be rejected and will not qualify for a prize. The decision of the organizers to this effect is final and without appeal.
11. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify or cancel the entry of all persons entering, or attempting to enter, this contest in a manner which is contrary to the rules or unfair to the other entrants. These persons could be reported to the proper judicial authorities. The decision of the organizers to this effect is final and without appeal.
12. Prizes must be accepted as described in the current rules and cannot, in any way, be transferred to another person, substituted for another prize or exchanged, in whole or in part, for money, subject to the provisions in Paragraph 13 of these rules. It will be up to the sponsor’s discretion whether a cash alternative will be offered.
13. If, for reasons beyond their control, and not related to the winners, the organizers are unable to award a prize as described in the present rules, they will award a prize of a similar nature and equivalent value, or at their sole discretion, the prize value in cash.
14. Information related to entrants is protected by law. Notwithstanding this judicial protection, in entering this contest, the winners authorize the organizers and their representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, declaration related to the prize, place of residence and/or voice for publicity purposes, without any form of remuneration. Personal information collected from participants for this contest is used solely for the administration of the contest and is subject to the privacy policy of Maison Cousin inc. No communication, commercial or other, and unrelated to this contest, will be sent to participants by Maison Cousin Inc, unless the participant gives permission to Maison Cousin Inc or its affiliates to do so.
15. The winners release Maison Cousin Inc., the participating merchants, their affiliates, advertising and promotions agencies, as well as their employees, agents and representatives, from all responsibility for any damage that may result from the acceptance and use of their prize. Prior to receiving their prize, the winners of the draw agree to sign a Declaration Form to this effect.
16. By entering or attempting to enter this contest, all persons release the contest organizers, their affiliates, participating merchants, advertising and promotions agencies, as well as their employees, agents and representatives, from all responsibility for any damage that may result from entering or attempting to enter this contest.
17. The contest organizers, their affiliates, participating merchants, their advertising and promotions agencies, as well as their employees, agents and representatives, are released from all responsibility for all malfunctioning of all software components, all software, or all lines of communication related to the loss or absence of the communication network, or related to all failed, incomplete, illegible, or erased transmission by any computer or network, which could limit, or prevent, the possibility of any person from entering the contest. The organizers of this contest, their affiliates, participating merchants, their advertising and promotions agencies, as well as their employees, agents and representatives are released from all responsibility for all damage or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by downloading all software and by the transmission of all information required for entry in the contest.
18. The contest organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to annul, terminate, modify or suspend the current contest, in whole or in part, in the case of an event of any human intervention that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or management of this contest as described in these current rules, and this, subject to the acceptance of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, for residents of Québec, if required. In all cases, the contest organizers, their affiliated companies, their advertising and promotions agencies, suppliers of goods or services related to this contest, as well as their employees, agents and representatives, cannot award more prizes than those indicated in the current rules or award prizes other than those that conform with the rules herein.
19. Any dispute with the organization or with the conduct of the contest publicity may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for clarification. Any dispute with regard to the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie for the sole purpose of intervention in the rendering of a decision.
20. For the purposes of these current rules, the entrant is the person whose name appears on the electronic entry form, or the mail-in entry. It is this person to whom the prize will be awarded if they are declared a winner.
21. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.
22. In case of any difference between the French and English versions of the current rules, the French version will prevail.
